We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced tax manager to join our high-performing and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tax accounting, process improvements, and continuous learning. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Global GAAP consolidation and US Stat provision process in its current state while progressing tax transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Metlife Inc and MLICC SEC GAAP Consolidation processes in accordance with ASC 740 and in compliance with SOX Controls
- Review of interim and annual US GAAP and Statutory income tax provisions prepared in accordance with ASC 740 and SSAP 101 including analysis of the effective tax rate (ETR) and current and deferred tax liability, current and deferred tax rollforwards and tax basis proofs, ASC 740-10 (previously FIN 48) reserve analysis, and return to provision reconciliations.
- Manage tax accounting impacts of US uncertain tax positions and tax audit adjustments and global UTPs.
- Learn tax provision reporting system over Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud tool and leverage to full potential toward tax transformational goals and to guide end users inquiries for submission process
- Ensure IT integrations are running smoothly as part of the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
- Support key tax transformation initiatives to standardize, centralize and automate tax provision calculations and reporting
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
- Minimum 4-6 years of income tax accounting experience in preparation, review and/or audit capacity in a tax practice or an accounting firm.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks workload and comply with financial reporting deadlines
- Self-motivated, with strong communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with MS Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred:
- CPA highly desired
- Experience with tax administrator tasks in Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud, LongView, Corptax, OneSource Tax Provision or similar tools
- Experience using business intelligence tools such as Alteryx or Microsoft Power BI
- Experience using Peoplesoft general ledger, HFM (hyperion financial Management) preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is $101,000 to $134,700. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
