We are currently seeking a Portfolio Specialist for the Short/Intermediate Duration Portfolio Management team within MetLife Investment Management (MIM). This is a unique and exciting opportunity with significant growth potential for a candidate who seeks to be part of our expanding business, enjoys working in a dynamic environment and possesses excellent people skills.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day support and report directly to the head of the Short/Intermediate Fixed Income Total Return business where you will be expected to move up the learning curve quickly to become conversant on the six strategies, within our fixed income product suite totaling over $17 billion in assets. We expect you to be able to capably interact with and service our existing institutional client base through various means of communication as part of the relationship team, including participating in face-to-face meetings. You will also play a key role in coordinating meeting and marketing materials and presenting them to current and prospective clients. In support of this effort, you will work closely with senior management to uncover and develop internal relationships and opportunities across other areas of MetLife.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with existing team members to manage a monthly and quarterly client deliverables calendar and address ad hoc client, consultant, and prospective client requests for information.
- Lead the preparation and production of customized materials for both internal and external meetings including client portfolio reviews, prospective client new business presentations, monthly and quarterly deliverables, RFPs (Request for Proposal), RFIs, DDQs, and maintain our products’ information in investment management consultant databases.
- Responsible for information gathering for RFP/RFI responses on behalf of the Short/Intermediate Duration strategies in close coordination with MIM Client Service, Research, and Legal/Compliance professionals.
- Interact directly with colleagues throughout MIM including Portfolio Management, Research, Trading, Client Service, Marketing and Legal/Compliance.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- At least 5 years relevant experience.
- Strong project management, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize deliverables
- Self-starter- takes initiative on projects independently with minimal direction
- Adaptability/flexibility in being able to partner with other team members in various aspects of daily unit functioning and responding to frequent ad hoc requests
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles to assist clients with reconciliation issues regarding our reporting
- Manage and construct custom market / economic data slides using Power Point and Excel
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with BlackRock Aladdin, Salesforce a plus
