About The Role

As a GBS Intern, you will complete a 8-week sales training program which includes a combination of structured classroom and on-the-job learning with a focus on building an understanding of the employee benefits industry, MetLife’s group benefits and professional selling skills. Successful completion of the program will prepare you to apply for a full-time position with MetLife’s Sales Academy.

LOCATIONS: Irvine (CA), Charlotte (NC), Philadelphia (PA), New York (NY), Houston (TX), Detroit (MI), Minneapolis (MN)

  • Assist business units by performing various assigned duties that are intended to provide experience and build sales skills for future development

  • Develop personally and professionally with a customized intern curriculum
  • Build a network of peers and mentors in a business to business sales environment
  • Gain exposure to products and services within Group Benefits
  • Participate in social activities and networking events
  • Perform duties supporting the sales organization as assigned or required
  • Interview for a full-time position in our Sales Academy upon completion of the program

Required Qualifications

  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communications skills and leadership qualities
  • Motivated team player with sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to lead and influence
  • High school diploma
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program with an accredited college or university.  Preferably a rising senior.
